Martin Thiel joins the Kemper Management Board
As of January 1, 2020, Martin Thiel is a member of the management board of Gebr. Thiel is taking over the Rolled Products division as part of a future-oriented reorganization. Technical Managing Director Dr. Wieland Pavel is retiring after being with Kemper for over 20 years.
Martin Thiel joined the Olper family business in mid-2019 as Head of the Rolled Products Division. He grew up in Winnweiler and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern. After completing his studies, he worked for the Saar-Metall Group for 15 years in various positions and at several locations. For the last four years, he headed the group as Technical Managing Director. He then worked as Managing Director at Lebronze Alloys Germany. This was followed by a position as plant manager and then as managing director at KMD Connectors Stolberg. From there, he moved to Kemper in Olpe.
Dr. Wieland Pavel is retiring with one crying and one laughing eye. "In all the years I've been working here, I've always built in Kemper Valley - as the client, so to speak," he says with a grin. "First came the expansion of Plant 2, then the technical center, then Plant 1, the new Plant 4 and now Plant 3. We have constantly invested in the latest technical equipment and processes. Constant expansions and continuous development have accompanied me along the way - it's been a lot of fun. Staying ahead of the technological curve has also always been part of it over the years. We have always been at the forefront - that also makes me a little proud."
With the arrival of Martin Thiel, the reorganization at Kemper is complete. From January, the Rolled Products division will be in his hands. Dr. Michael Rehse is already responsible for the Castings and Building Technology divisions. Christian Küster is responsible for central services.
