Steute at the SMM: Completion of the program for marine technology

pb,

DNV approvals for several Ex position switch series

Just in time for SMM 2024, the world's leading maritime trade fair from 3 to 6 September in Hamburg, Steute's Controltec division is presenting an extension to its range of switchgear with DNV approval. These switchgears have been developed for applications in which they may be exposed to humidity and moisture - including seawater. A wide temperature range, down to minus 60 degrees Celsius depending on the series, is also one of their key features. The DNV approval certifies, among other things, that they are mechanically robust and suitable for applications in which shocks, jolts and vibrations of up to four g occur - a property profile that is often, but not only, required for maritime applications, for example in ship technology or on oil drilling platforms.

New position switch series customizable

The Steute range of switchgear with DNV approval already included magnetic sensors and safety sensors as well as foot switches in "Extreme" design. The three universally applicable position switch series Ex 97, Ex 98 and Ex 99 are now new additions to the range. All three series are compact and robust, and can be adapted to individual applications using different actuators. A high degree of protection (IP 66/67) is a matter of course, as is certification for Ex zones 1 and 21 (gas Ex and dust Ex).

Other features of the position switches include compact and standard-compliant dimensions in accordance with EN 50047 (Ex 97) and EN 50041 (Ex 98 and 99), metal housing (Ex 98) and universal mounting options. All three series are also available in non-Ex versions.

Highly specialized supplier to the maritime industry

The company will be presenting the three position switch series with new DNV approval at SMM in Hall B6 at Stand 137 and will also be showing robust and corrosion-protected foot switches for modern mooring systems ("Quick Release Hooks") in wired and wireless versions as well as hoist limit switches for harbor cranes.
