Trade Press Days 2024

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Shaping the future with automation

Automation will continue to gain in importance in the coming years. Major goals such as climate protection, sustainability and the challenges posed by the increasing shortage of skilled workers can only be achieved with the help of automation technology and innovative approaches.

The trade press days of the Stutensee editorial office on February 6 and 7, 2024 therefore met with great interest again this year: Almost 60 trade editors were represented at the face-to-face event in Karlsruhe or connected via livestream. In 20 varied presentations, the participating companies provided information on innovations and trends in automation and process technology. The speakers and exhibitors used the time between presentations at the press conference tables to talk directly to representatives of the trade press in a pleasant atmosphere. Both the participants and the host were delighted with the successful event.

Sustainability, environmental protection and digital networking

The presentations on sustainability and recycling attracted particular interest. Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, for example, presented new diaphragm valves that help to improve the CO2 footprint in process technology, and Igus GmbH clearly demonstrated how industry and the environment can benefit from lubricant-free plastic plain bearings.

The speaker from Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. explained that energy costs can be reduced and efficiency increased with intelligent drive technology in the recycling market. Remote maintenance is also becoming an increasingly important topic; Arnold Umformtechnik is already implementing concepts that save skilled workers and travel costs.

Last but not least, the topic of networking also plays a central role in these challenges. HMS Industrial Networks, for example, showed how this can meet the growing demands on security and the fast-moving semiconductor market. Other presentations on sensor technology, control technology and future-proof operating concepts rounded off the varied program and also provided valuable input.
