Interview with the trade fair organizers
Rumors of exhibitor cancellations for the physical SPS in Nuremberg keep surfacing. Martin Roschkowski and Sylke Schulz-Metzner from the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt answer the most important questions about SPS 2021 under pandemic conditions.
The corona situation is worsening, in the last few days some exhibitors have canceled their physical participation in the SPS from November 23 to 25 in Nuremberg at short notice. Due to numerous rumors, the colleagues from Computer & AUTOMATION asked the trade fair managers at Mesago Messe Frankfurt. On Tuesday evening (November 16), Martin Roschkowski, Managing Director of Mesago Messe Frankfurt, and Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Vice President SPS at Mesago Messe Frankfurt, answered the most important questions and thus provided guidance for visitors and exhibitors.
Facts about the trade fair
SPS 2021 will take place as a hybrid event. There will be a digital extension to the physical trade fair in Nuremberg in the form of SPS on air. Some exhibitors have canceled their participation in the physical event in Nuremberg due to the pandemic situation. However, the companies are usually represented at the virtual SPS on air. Confirmed cancellations received by Mesago Messe Frankfurt include Harting, Beckhoff, Pilz and Phoenix Contact. The trade fair organizers point out that the exhibitor list will be updated as quickly as possible, but that this may take one to two days due to technical circumstances.
The exhibition in Nuremberg is taking place under 2G regulations. This means that visitors must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated or have recovered.
The 3G Plus regulation applies to exhibitors. This means that exhibitor employees, service providers, service personnel, etc. must provide proof that they have been fully vaccinated, recovered or PCR-tested. The PCR test must not be older than 48 hours.
In addition to the legal regulations, Mesago, as the organizer, has issued a mask requirement. Every person at the trade fair is therefore obliged to wear a medical mask during the trade fair.
