Update: SPS 2021 in Nuremberg completely canceled
Following the announcements made by BavarianMinisterPresident Markus Söder at the press conference on November 19 ,Mesago Messe Frankfurtcanceled SPS, which was scheduled to take place in Nuremberg from November 23 to 25. The virtual SPS on air did not take placeeither .An explanation has now been issued.
UPDATE: Martin Roschkowski, President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt, explained the cancellation of the virtual event, which came as a surprise to many participants, when asked by INDUSTRIAL Production:
"Our plans for the digital "SPS on air" were based on a hybrid approach to the physical SPS in Nuremberg. Many elements of the physical SPS, such as presentations, tours of the trade fair, interviews with exhibitors, etc., would have been transferred to the "SPS on air". Due to the tightened restrictions at very short notice and the resulting consequence of not being able to hold the face-to-face event, it was unfortunately no longer possible to maintain the digital platform on its own."
In addition to the further increase in infection and hospitalization rates ,the new 2G Plus regulation and the upper limitssetforevents madeit impossibleto hold the SPS .
"Wevery much regret this decision, but in view of the dynamically deteriorating situation and the stricter regulations , we areforced tocancel this year's industry meeting place,"emphasized Martin Roschkowski, Managing Director of Mesago Messe Frankfurt at the press conference on 19 November. "Our goalwith SPS 2021 was to createthe best possible business platform underthe safest possible conditions .We knowhow important SPS is for ourcustomers and partners, especially this year .Unfortunately ,despite constantly improving security measures ,it will not be possible to hold the event," he continued.
