Tetsuya Horimoto is the new Managing Director
Schmersal founds subsidiary in Japan
The Schmersal Group has founded an independent subsidiary in Japan. Tetsuya Horimoto has been appointed Managing Director of the new Schmersal Japan KK. He succeeds Dr. Takashi Kabe, who retired at the end of 2017 after many years as head of the previous Schmersal sales office in Japan.
Tetsuya Horimoto is an electrical engineer with many years of management experience at well-known international companies in the automation industry and is also a TÜV-certified Functional Safety Engineer. "With the establishment of the subsidiary in Tokyo, Schmersal will expand its range of safety components and systems for the Japanese market. In addition, we will be able to offer our customers the comprehensive services of our tec.nicum division locally," explains Tetsuya Horimoto.
The aim is to expand the Schmersal site in Japan both in terms of space and personnel. A separate warehouse will ensure faster delivery to customers in the future. Additional qualified engineers will ensure better customer service.
"Our customers in Japan mainly come from the mechanical engineering, steel, automotive and elevator industries. Japanese mechanical engineering manufacturers in particular export a large proportion of their products. We can support these customers in particular with our tec.nicum experts' in-depth knowledge of the various international and European legal regulations and standards on machinery and occupational safety as well as the corresponding safety solutions".
The newly founded Schmersal Japan KK is located at the same site as the previous Schmersal Japan Branch Office. kp
