Schaeffler: Honorary award to family shareholder
The family shareholders of the Schaeffler Group, Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler-Thumann and Georg F. W. Schaeffler, were presented with the prestigious "Brand Manager of the Year" award by the German Design Council as part of the "Automotive Brand Contest" in the magnificent ballroom of the Gesellschaftshaus am Palmengarten in Frankfurt. The company and brand development through committed entrepreneurship, innovative products, company takeovers and global expansion were honored.
The keynote speech was given by motoring and automotive journalist Jürgen Lewandowski, who paid tribute to the life's work of mother and son in a very personal speech. Family shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Georg F. W. Schaeffler accepted the award with thanks and particularly emphasized the achievements of his father, his uncle and his mother in building up the company.
"We would like to thank you for this honorable award and gladly accept it on behalf of the entire Schaeffler family of companies with its approximately 90,000 members. A strong brand stands for the quality of products and services, creates identity for employees and builds trust with business partners - also through the associated intangible values," said Georg F. W. Schaeffler at the award ceremony in Frankfurt.
