Rollon takes over iMS

The manufacturer of linear guides, linear axes and multi-axis systems has acquired Intelligent Machine Solutions (iMS), a specialist in standard and customized linear assemblies for the automation industry.

With the acquisition of the Michigan-based company, Rollon is expanding its product range of linear axis systems and traversing axes for robots to include static loads of over 45 tons and robot payloads of up to 2 tons.

"The acquisition of iMS builds on our many years of engineering expertise and enables us to increase our competitiveness in the field of linear heavy-duty applications and realize new sales," explains Rüdiger Knevels, CEO of Rollon. "This deal expands our product range and creates new opportunities for us in the growing, approx. 600 million euro segment for robot traversing units."

In addition to the very high load capacities, these new linear axis systems and traversing axes for robots can be easily used in automation processes in many industries. They have a modular design, can be adapted to specific applications and are quick to install.
