Pixargus becomes part of the Citex Group

The measurement technology manufacturer Pixargus has grown from a start-up to a global player in the field of optical inline quality control. Now, under the umbrella of Citex Holding, the company plans to focus more on the US and Asian markets.

All major manufacturers of automotive rubber profiles worldwide use systems from Pixargus for surface monitoring and dimensional measurement. The successful ProfilControl series from the measurement technology specialist is already a bestseller in its 7th generation. Today, the inline systems from Würselen are also used in 24/7 production operations in the building and construction industry, in medicine and in the consumer goods industry. In just under 25 years, the former RWTH Aachen University start-up has risen to become the leading provider in the field of optical inline quality control in extrusion. As a subsidiary of the Citex Group, Pixargus now wants to expand and grow.

Expansion on the US and Asian markets

The Citex Group brings together strong, highly specialized partners in the field of extrusion technology. While Pixargus contributes its in-depth expertise in optical profile inspection, the Citex subsidiary iNOEX has access to a global customer base and a strong sales network in the US and Asia. With its X-ray and radar technology, iNOEX is now a leading expert in the measurement of round products. The main focus here is on inspecting the pipe wall. In addition, Pixargus offers AllRounDia-DualVision, a successful camera inspection system for external inspection of the surface and dimensions of pipes and hoses in one sensor head. With the combined clout of its subsidiaries, the Citex Group is once again significantly expanding its position as a leading supplier of sensors and measurement technology on the extrusion line.

Quality data from Pixargus for data science

Another asset of the measurement technology experts from Würselen is their special data expertise. With the software developed by Pixargus and its intelligent inspection algorithms, the company's optical systems are fully networked in the production line and provide valuable quality data in real time. The Pixargus systems also integrate external sensors, transfer their data to downstream processes and enable complex automation processes such as control loops. The Citex Group intends to use the data expertise of the Würselen-based company to further expand research and development in the field of data science. The aim is to develop future-oriented and cloud-based solutions for extrusion.

Incubator for innovations

Pixargus is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Citex Holding GmbH. Citex Holding is committed to promoting and developing innovative, cross-sector technologies for industry, with a particular focus on extrusion. The holding company sees itself as a platform provider for its highly specialized subsidiaries and as an incubator for innovations.

Dr. Ralph Klose, CO-CEO of Citex Holding GmbH, sums up the merger with Pixargus as follows. "Pixargus has in-depth knowledge of product development and consulting, particularly in the automotive and profile market segments. Together, we will be able to provide our customers with comprehensive support across the entire automation cycle in the future."

Pixargus Managing Director René Beaujean puts it this way: "Pixargus is now in a strategically optimal starting position in the Citex company environment. We have created the ideal basis for jointly exploiting future and growth opportunities for all sides."
