Lucius Amelung takes over the management
Physik Instrumente founds PI Innovation
Lucius Amelung, founder of PI miCos in Eschbach near Freiburg, is taking on new responsibilities within the PI Group and was appointed Managing Director of the new PI Innovation GmbH on July 1, 2018.
In the age of Industry 4.0 and digitalization, PI Innovation aims to identify market trends and customer needs even earlier and translate this knowledge into innovative product and technology developments.
After 28 years of successful management, Lucius Amelung is handing over the management of PImiCos to Dr. Peter Schittenhelm. Dr. Schittenhelm now performs this function in addition to his responsibilities as Managing Director Operations (COO) of the Group. In addition to Lucius Amelung, Markus Spanner, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Group, will also be a member of the PI Innovation management team.
In the course of this change in management, Physik Instrumente (PI ) also acquired the remaining shares in PI miCos, meaning that the company is now a wholly owned subsidiary.
PI miCos is to be strengthened and further expanded as a competence center for motorized positioning axles.
