Lapp, an expert in integrated cable and connection technology solutions, has taken over its long-standing Swiss sales partner Volland.

Andreas Lapp, CEO of the Lapp Group (far right), and Matthias Lapp, CEO of Lapp for the Europe, Latin America, Africa and Middle East region (far left), seal the purchase of Volland AG with Managing Director Reto Volland (left) and Chairman of the Board of Directors Rudolf Volland (right).

On July 3, 2018, company founder Rudolf Volland and Managing Director Reto Volland, together with Andreas Lapp, CEO of the Lapp Group, and Matthias Lapp, CEO of Lapp for the Europe, Latin America, Africa and Middle East region, signed the purchase agreement in Rümlang.

Andreas Lapp is delighted: "This step is the result of many years of successful partnership and shared corporate philosophies. We at Lapp can thus further strengthen our presence in the particularly innovative and demanding Swiss market and offer customers in Switzerland and around the world an even better and more seamless service."

Volland AG, based in Rümlang, has been a sales partner of Lapp since the company was founded in 1960, making it the first company abroad. The Swiss company is a system provider of cable technology and currently employs 35 people. Reto Volland, Managing Director of Volland for 32 years, will continue to manage the business of the new Lapp company.

Company founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors Rudolf Volland: "Our goal is to lead Volland AG into a secure and innovative future after almost six decades. We want to retain the trust of our customers and all employees, gain market share and further develop Volland AG as a Lapp location in Switzerland. In this way, we are also arranging the succession at an early stage and ensuring continuity and new prospects for the future."

Matthias Lapp, CEO of Lapp for the Europe, Latin America, Africa and Middle East region, sees the acquisition as an important step for Lapp: "Switzerland has always been an important market for us, and together with Volland we have been successful here for almost six decades. Now is the right time to go one step further."

Reto Volland sees great opportunities in the sale of his company to Lapp. He emphasizes: "With the power of the global player Lapp behind us, we can offer our customers in Switzerland an even faster and better service." Among other things, Volland's direct integration into the Lapp network will allow customers to benefit from an even larger product selection, higher stock availability, faster deliveries and Lapp's innovative strength. The takeover is subject to the approval of the relevant authorities.
