Lapp opens subsidiary in Australia
The Lapp Group has entered into a partnership in Australia with the New Zealand company ECS. The joint venture Lapp Australia now also offers the entire Lapp portfolio "Down Under".
The headquarters of the new branch opened on February 1, 2018 in Eastern Creek, Sydney and covers an area of 3,100 square meters. According to Terence Rayner, Managing Director of Lapp Australia, the new company sets new standards for service and choice in the Australian market. To this end, customers will have direct access to over 40,000 standard items from Lapp's global product ranges, in addition to a strong onshore inventory of more than 1,000 product lines. This is also of interest to Lapp's global customers who are represented in the Australian market.
The Australian market is very interesting for Lapp. According to Alexander Lapp, responsible for e-business & digitalization at Lapp, the investment by the Lapp and Rayner families in Australia is a vote of confidence in the local industry. "The Australian economy is set for strong growth in industrial automation solutions. We see great opportunities in this," says Alexander Lapp, who initiated the joint venture for the Lapp Group. "Thanks to the long and successful relationship with the Rayner family of entrepreneurs, we can now inspire customers in Australia together," emphasizes Alexander Lapp.
ECS is a leading supplier of electrical and automation products in New Zealand. Founded in 1983, the company is owned by two generations of the Rayner family. ECS began by designing and manufacturing automated machinery for a variety of industries, including production equipment for the dairy and construction industries. Through its own need for the highest quality cables and products, ECS became a Lapp customer and has since purchased products from Lapp for its own designs. ECS has represented Lapp in New Zealand for more than 30 years and distributes the company's products there. as
