Lantek and Machitech cooperate
High-performance cutting systems with CAD/CAM software
Lantek, a global provider of software solutions for the metalworking industry, has signed a cooperation agreement with Machitech. The Canadian company specializes in high-performance laser, plasma and oxyfuel cutting systems and will integrate Lantek's software solutions into its machines.
The partnership is a step in Lantek's international growth strategy. It will strengthen Lantek's cooperation with technology-oriented machine builders in North America and Europe. Machitech will equip its "Fiber PRIME S" laser cutting machines with the "Lantek Expert Cut" software and its "Fiber TUBE XL" tube cutting laser system with "Lantek Flex3D Tubes".
Canadian technology with a strong industrial focus
The Canadian company Machitech, based in Quebec, develops customized machines, in particular with high-performance plasma and oxyfuel cutting technologies. They meet demanding industrial requirements in a highly specialized market segment. Recently, the expert in CNC cutting systems has expanded its portfolio to include steel construction, structural profiles and tube cutting - an offer for manufacturers who produce complex products with high added value.
The "Fiber PRIME S" series works with lasers in power ranges from 12 to 60 kW and includes bevel cutting functions for processing thick steel. The XL version is designed for very long parts and is equipped with touchscreen control and remote control systems designed for demanding production environments.
Accordingly, Machitech has opted for a dedicated CAD/CAM software environment to maximize the machines' capabilities from the outset: Lantek Expert Cut comes with advanced 2D nesting capabilities, allowing the creation of cutting lines and direct editing of 3D geometries via the Assembly 2 Nest (A2N) importer - all in a single working environment.
For cutting tubes, the "Fiber TUBE XL" machine works with "Lantek Flex3D Tubes", a software solution specially designed for processing large-diameter tubes and profiles. The laser system can process round and square tubes, HSS profiles and small beams up to 12 meters in length. The software enables the design, nesting and processing of parts directly on the tube or profile as well as the import of SAT and IGES files. Real-time process simulations and parameter adjustments help to reduce risks, improve cutting quality and protect critical machine components when machining tubes and profiles.
A clear message for the European market
"This collaboration clearly reflects the type of growth we are looking for at Lantek. A Canadian manufacturer like Machitech, which has a strong industrial focus based on a solid technological foundation, is in line with our strategy of expanding internationally alongside partners who value technology, reliability and technical expertise," says Juan José Colas Lastra, Sales and Marketing Manager at Lantek.
Simon Croteau, Vice President of Marketing at Machitech, adds: "Our customers were looking for a proven software solution that could be seamlessly integrated into their processes and the machines they already operate. Lantek is an established player in the industry and a perfect fit for our manufacturing concept."
With this agreement, Lantek aims to further consolidate its international presence and pursues a strategy of cooperation with technology manufacturers that have a strong identity and industrial experience and a clear commitment to advanced solutions for sheet metal, tube and structural steel processing.
