Inficon: Christian Buschendorf is Head of Service EMEA
Following his move to Inficon last year, Christian Buschendorf has now taken on the position of Head of Service for the EMEA region. The mechanical engineer and Master of Business Administration most recently worked at Konecranes Oyj as Senior Manager Service Automated Products.
In his new position at Inficon, he manages the regional service centers and therefore has overall responsibility for the service business in EMEA. Buschendorf strengthened the service team right from the start in the Field Service and Inhouse Repair areas. Silke Palm has also been supporting the team as After Sales Coordinator since February. In this newly created role, the marketing specialist optimizes the communication channels to customers, ensures the active marketing of service products and oversees training for customers and service partners.
"Inficon has grown very strongly and rapidly in recent years, and with it the demand for services. We are responding to this by expanding our EMEA service team. Many customers already value Inficon as a fast-responding and competent service partner, but not all of them are yet taking advantage of the opportunities that our service offers them. Our primary goals are always high device availability and reduced lifecycle costs for the customer. We therefore want to structure the Inficon Service products very clearly and communicate them to all customers," says Buschendorf.
"Onsite check-ups and consulting services are important elements of our new range of services, but they also include needs-based maintenance contracts and training courses," continues Buschendorf. "These include training courses on maintenance and service topics as well as structured application training courses as part of the Inficon Academy."
Because high uptime is essential in industrial leak detection and leak testing, the company immediately provides a replacement device to bridge the repair time if required. "Even in more difficult cases, our well-equipped workshop in Cologne can then carry out the repair without affecting the customer's production," continues Buschendorf. The service coverage is actually Europe-wide. "In all countries where Inficon is active, we also have trained, certified service personnel who provide our customers with optimum support."
Before Buschendorf moved from Konecranes to Inficon, he had already been entrusted with service management functions at Terex MHPS, which was acquired by Konecranes in 2017. Terex MHPS, in turn, had acquired Demag Cranes & Components in 2014, where Buschendorf had worked as Field Service Operation Manager since 2011.
