Consolidation of logistics and sales
Hydraulic line components from a single source
Stauff and Voswinkel merge logistics and sales. Since January 2, the products of both companies have been supplied seamlessly by Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co.
The acquisition of Voswinkel, a manufacturer of quick-release couplings, hose fittings and customized pipelines, in April 2015 was a milestone for the Stauff Group on its way to becoming a complete and system supplier of components for hydraulic lines. Since January 2, 2018, customers of both companies have been able to purchase all products from Walter Stauffenberg and thus obtain an even more comprehensive range of hydraulic line components from a single source. The bundling of ordering processes and goods shipments, as well as the reduction in the number of suppliers, promise time and cost benefits.
"We have carefully prepared this operational step over the past year, which was one of our goals from the outset when we acquired Voswinkel GmbH," says Jörg Deutz, CEO of the Stauff Group. This includes the spatial expansion of the fully automated logistics center in Neuenrade-Küntrop near the company headquarters in Werdohl, Sauerland, to 55,880 container spaces and 10,348 pallet spaces. "We guarantee existing and new customers of both companies the outstanding service for which Stauff has been known for decades: smooth processes, high delivery capacities and correspondingly high adherence to delivery dates."
The merger gives customers a central point of contact for the entire range of Stauff and Voswinkel cable components from seven product groups. This person is available for independent application advice and support in the selection of suitable components from a technical and economic perspective across the boundaries of the product groups. The customer advisors are in close contact with the product managers of all product areas and the application engineers and are therefore also an important interface to the customers' design departments. "Under the umbrella of the Stauff Group, there are two strong brands with a high level of development and manufacturing expertise," says Jörg Deutz, emphasizing a decisive difference to full-range suppliers, whose product range is often completed by merchandise. Stauff and Voswinkel products are increasingly being coordinated with each other and, if required, also made available as assemblies. "The intensification of cooperation brings our customers not only a reduction in purchasing and logistics costs, but also clear advantages in engineering." kp
