Fire protection system solutions expanded
Hilti takes over BST Brandschutztechnik
Effective January 31, 2018, the Hilti Group acquired the Austrian company bst Brandschutztechnik Döpfl GmbH and its sales company in Germany. Hilti is thus expanding its range of fire protection system solutions for the energy and industrial sectors.
Since 2011, bst Brandschutztechnik has been supplying Hilti with seals for cable penetrations that are used in the energy and industrial sectors to protect against water, gas and fire. The company, which is based near Vienna, currently employs 15 people in development, production and sales.
Together with the bst team, Hilti intends to further develop the product range in the area of cable penetrations in order to be able to offer more comprehensive fire protection system solutions for cable seals in the future. The direct sales channels of both companies as well as the sales structures of the Norwegian Oglaend System Group, which Hilti acquired last year to expand its offshore business, will be used to develop additional customer segments. kp
