Financial year 2021

Hahn+Kolb achieves double-digit growth

2021 was a good year for Hahn+Kolb Werkzeuge. Compared to the previous year, the Hahn+Kolb Group's turnover increased by more than 20% to over 315 million euros.

In 2021, Hahn+Kolb invested in the expansion of the logistics center at the Ludwigsburg site, among other things, and worked on sustainable solutions.

The Hahn+Kolb Group is one of the leading tool service providers and system suppliers. Its core products are high-quality cutting and clamping tools, measuring and testing equipment and operating facilities. The portfolio of 120,000 items is aimed at companies and groups from the mechanical engineering, automotive, metal, electronics and energy sectors. Hahn+Kolb also recorded strong growth in the food, transportation and logistics sectors. As a result, the Hahn+Kolb Group achieved a turnover of EUR 315 million in the past financial year, an increase of 20 percent.

Individual support and digital service

The intensive and individual customer support and the international service, which makes it possible to competently serve customers with locations in different countries from a single source, also contributed to this. In addition, the expanded range of digitalization services facilitated organization and collaboration across international borders - such as the HK Portal, which is used for the procurement of tools and equipment of all kinds, or the web-based tool HK-INSPECT, which is used to manage equipment. The Hahn+Kolb Group employs around 870 people worldwide.

High delivery capacity and reliable partners

Another important criterion during this time is the high delivery capacity: the expansion of the logistics center at the Ludwigsburg site has absolutely paid off here. Around 40,000 additional container storage spaces were created, bringing the total to 110,000. The predominantly European manufacturers and suppliers make Hahn+Kolb less dependent on global flows of goods, so that, with a few exceptions, a very good delivery capability could be guaranteed. Hahn+Kolb continues to rely on this resilient partner network and the high quality of its products.

Sustainable solutions

Sustainable packaging solutions, which are becoming increasingly important to Hahn+Kolb's customers, are another cornerstone of the company's success. Since last year, a new automated cartoning system has reduced the need for cardboard packaging by around 30 percent thanks to precisely fitting packaging, while at the same time requiring less filling material and ultimately also savingCO2. Another milestone was the switch to so-called recyclate packaging. This makes a significant contribution to the product cycle, as it consists of 100 percent plastic waste. Hahn+Kolb also offers a resharpening service for tools. As part of its sustainability strategy, Hahn+Kolb has also installed four publicly accessible e-charging stations at the company headquarters in Ludwigsburg.

Outlook 2022

Hahn+Kolb is expecting comparable growth in 2022 and is also aiming for further sustainable solutions and products. The Atorn own brand is also celebrating its anniversary. For 20 years, it has stood for quality, innovation and emotion. The product range now includes around 35,590 items - from drilling, milling, turning, grinding and cutting tools as well as measuring equipment to workshop supplies and factory equipment - and additional anniversary products and offers for customers will follow this year.
