ebm-papst passes the second billion mark

The ebm-papst Group is continuing its global growth trajectory. The family-owned company closed the past 2017/18 financial year with sales revenue of € 2.043 billion. Compared to the previous year (€ 1.900 billion), this represents growth of € 143 million (+7.5 %). On the reporting date, ebm-papst employed 15,115 people (previous year: 14,398 /+717).

"For the first time, we have managed to exceed the € 2 billion mark as a group of companies, and more than clearly. In times of material bottlenecks, capacity problems and political uncertainty, this is an outstanding achievement. We were able to grow in almost all regions, in all markets, at all locations, and in many cases even by double digits," says Stefan Brandl, CEO.

With the introduction of the "one ebm-papst" strategy program last year, Brandl set the course for structurally aligning the company for further qualitative growth. "We are currently working on more than 30 strategic "one ebm-papst" projects, through which we will increase our efficiency, effectiveness, responsiveness and flexibility, among other things, and further expand our leading international position as a strong group of companies in the long term."

An important project of the "one-ebm-papst" program is "Structure 2020". In addition to Europe, the motor and fan specialist is systematically expanding its Asia and America regions in line with the "local for local" principle and increasing its independence there in areas such as development, sales and production. Around € 201 million (previous year: € 144 million) will be invested in further capacity expansion in the current financial year 18/19, for example in Xian, the fifth location in China, as well as in the new technology center in Mulfingen.
