Cooperation for sensor and analog devices
Rutronik enters into partnership with Nisshinbo Micro Devices in the USA
Rutronik Elektronische Bauelement, broadline distributor for electronic components, and Nisshinbo, based in Tokyo, Japan, have extended their franchise to North America. The cooperation concerns sensor and analog devices for industrial, automotive and consumer electronics.
Nisshinbo Micro Devices offers electronic components and microwave products based on the performance of analog technologies. These products enable electronics engineers to develop advanced applications for the consumer, industrial and automotive markets. The company owns and operates three wafer fabs in Japan and two assembly and test facilities worldwide. Nisshinbo is known for its outstanding quality and reliability and is ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949 certified. The components comply with automotive standards VDA 6.3 and AEC-Q100. In addition to the front-end and back-end manufacturing facilities, Nisshinbo operates a design and development department in Japan.
Analog products within the semiconductor portfolio
The expanded partnership between Nisshinbo and Rutronik combines the strengths of two industry leaders. Rutronik customers will benefit from an expanded selection of globally available analog products within the semiconductor portfolio. "Nisshinbo is committed to change and challenge. Our goal is to provide our customers with environmentally friendly products and services to create a safer and more inclusive society. To do this, we need a reliable partner like Rutronik," says Tomoki Nagamune, President Nisshinbo Micro Devices Americas at Nisshinbo Micro Devices. "We have more than 60 years of experience in developing and manufacturing electronic components such as integrated circuits, discrete semiconductors and optoelectronic devices. With more than 50 years in the electronics market, Rutronik has built a strong global sales and marketing team focused on the automotive and industrial sectors. We are pleased to expand our partnership with Rutronik to North America."
"Nisshinbo plays an important role in the analog and mixed-signal IC market with a focus on high-precision operational amplifiers, high-resolution analog/mixed-signal front-ends, sensor signal conditioning ICs and a broad range of power management ICs, RF discrete and opto devices," said Thomas Ulinski, Vice President Product Marketing North America at Rutronik. "Expanding our franchise to North America is the next logical step in our long-standing and strong partnership with Nisshinbo. Nisshinbo, headquartered in Japan, stands for high-performance products with the highest quality and reliability," continues Thomas Ulinski.
Rutronik's franchise with New Japan Radio (NJR) was concluded in 2010 for the European market. In 2022, Ricoh Electronic Devices (REDC) and NJR merged to form Nisshinbo and the franchise is now being extended to North America.
Analog and sensor technologies for industrial, automotive and consumer electronics
Nisshinbo's product portfolio is consistent across all regions and covers the automotive, industrial and consumer sectors. The partnership between Rutronik and Nisshinbo jointly develop products; for example, the Rutronik System Solutions Adapter Board RAB3 - Radar, which was launched in May 2024, relies on the 60GHz Smart Sensor Micro Module from Nisshinbo. The advanced radar sensor offers non-contact and high-precision measurement solutions for distance measurement and people counting. The integration of the Nisshinbo micro module enables precise distance, angle and condition detection using 60 GHz millimeter wave radar technology. This is beneficial in environments that require high hygiene standards as the radar sensors can be installed behind surfaces, maintaining privacy and functionality.
