Atlas Copco: Own repair center for joining technology components

At the Bretten site, Atlas Copco has set up its own repair center for system components for joining technology systems. These include SCA gluing and dispensing systems as well as Henrob self-pierce riveting systems. "In our repair store, we offer high-quality repairs with original spare parts - quickly, easily and cost-effectively," says Dominik Nüske, team leader of the repair center at Atlas Copco IAS in Bretten. "With this service, our customers can reduce their operating costs and increase the availability of their systems."

Car manufacturers in particular are increasingly outsourcing repairs to system components. "We are currently receiving around 15 percent more repair orders from our customers every year," says Nüske, explaining the establishment of the repair store. "We can see from this that the demand for professional manufacturer repairs is increasing."

Atlas Copco offers a choice of two repair packages: With the individual repair, the customer receives a customized offer and has full transparency regarding costs and spare parts used. Easy Repair, on the other hand, offers simple and fast processing at a fixed price. "The customer chooses the repair option that best suits them. At the same time, they can reduce their stock levels," says Nüske.

The work is carried out by certified technicians using original spare parts, and the repaired components are subjected to extensive functional, high-voltage and pressure tests. Upon completion of the work, customers receive a qualified repair report and the company offers a six-month warranty on every repair.

"We support the customer throughout the entire life cycle of their system and offer them maximum flexibility," says Nüske. In addition to on-site customer service, the repair center is another important building block for a tailored maintenance strategy. In addition to the main site in Bretten, Atlas Copco is currently setting up further repair centers in Shanghai and New Hudson in the USA.
