Synchronous motors

Motor as a kit

Maccon launches the LS series of cogging-free rotary motors as a kit. The motors are brushless permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). As the stator laminated core is slotless, there is no cogging between the rotor and stator.

The absence of cogging torque enables high positioning accuracy and speed consistency. The motors have a thin-ring geometry with a large internal rotor diameter. The motors are therefore suitable for applications that require a large hollow shaft or a short axial installation space. The manufacturer has designed the LS series according to the kit philosophy: Only one rotor and one stator are supplied, i.e. the active parts of a motor, which the designer integrates directly into his own mechatronic assembly. Unnecessary bearings, shafts and housings are eliminated. The LS motors are available as internal or external rotors. pb
