Wittenstein presents the smart gearboxes with "cynapse" for the first time. They have an integrated sensor module that enables Industry 4.0 connectivity. The innovation is initially available for the alpha Premium Line gearboxes, Wittenstein announced.
Externally, gearboxes with cynapse do not differ from the existing series in terms of design, size or contour, meaning that already designed drive solutions can remain in place. What makes the difference is a sensor module integrated into the smart gearbox. This module makes it possible to identify and measure influencing variables from the process and the operating environment that affect the gearbox during operation and to output them via IO-Link. The smart gearboxes therefore offer the option of recording parameters such as temperature, vibration behaviour, operating hours or installation position and communicating them up to cloud level via the standardized connectivity of the IO-Link interface and an IO-Link master. as
