B&R is further developing the 8LS servo motor series. The new size five motors in lengths A/B/C fit into the existing 8LS product line. They enable higher performance and thus complement the product line in the medium range.
Compared to their predecessors, they aim to impress with smaller installation dimensions and an improved thermal design. The motors in the 8LS line are highly dynamic with a high torque overload ratio. They are suitable for applications in the fields of plastics processing, printing machines and servo pumps. With a flange dimension of 142 millimetres, their hallmark is torque density; customers should benefit from higher performance in a smaller installation space.
The motors can be combined with all types from the B&R modular gearbox system and are available as a complete motor-gearbox combination. The 8LS series is optionally available with digital encoders and safety functions. Up to size seven, a single-cable solution is available for the majority of speed variants, in which the motor and encoder cables are combined. This reduces the amount of cabling required and cuts installation costs. pb
