R+W drive elements in Chicago
Clutches for the USA
R+W Antriebselemente is intensifying its presence in the North American market with a modern production facility. The expansion will enable the local production of precision clutches to meet the increasing demand in the region and promote the long-term growth of R+W America.
R+W Antriebselemente continues its success story on the US market. With the opening of a modern production facility in West Chicago, the company has further intensified its activities in North America. The production facility in the Chicago metropolitan region covers 2,750 square meters. Thanks to the expanded storage and assembly capacities, R+W America can now manufacture a large proportion of its precision bellows couplings, elastomer couplings and drive shafts directly on site for the North American market.
Serve customers faster
Maximilian Crößmann, Managing Director of R+W Antriebselemente, emphasizes the importance of the new production site: "As a global solution provider for mechanical drive elements, the new production site in the USA will enable us to serve our customers in a more targeted and faster manner. The expansion is a milestone in our global activities and an important investment in the future of R+W." The North American market, especially the USA, has played a decisive role for R+W since the American subsidiary was founded in 2001. Over the years, the company has continuously expanded its design, sales and machining operations in America. With the opening of the new production facility, the company is able to carry out the complete production of drive elements locally for the first time.
Complete production processes efficiently replicated
The assembly process for the precision bellows couplings in particular offers few opportunities for mass production, as the high degree of customization places high demands on the flexibility of production. The new site will enable R+W America to efficiently replicate production processes that were previously carried out exclusively at the German headquarters and to tap into promising potential for the company. "Given the long-term growth prospects for both production and automation in North America and the increasing need for speed and flexibility in the marketplace, this move is a win-win for both R+W and its customers," says Dan Skrocki, who is responsible for operations in the US along with Andy Lechner.
On course for long-term growth
The expansion of production capacity in West Chicago and the ability to manufacture high-quality drive elements locally for the North American market gives the new site an increasingly important position outside Europe and continues to position R+W Antriebelemente as one of the world's leading suppliers in the industry. The new production site will help the company to optimally serve the increasing demand in the region and to grow successfully with R+W America in the long term.
