Mounted pinions for rack and pinion drives
Neugart is expanding its portfolio of planetary gearboxes to include an additional option with an assembled pinion from its own production, especially for rack and pinion drives.
There are two types of pinion to choose from: The PK1 pinion is mounted on the toothed output shaft of the gearbox, with internal toothing in accordance with DIN 5480 ensuring the necessary connection reliability. The PM1 pinion, on the other hand, is designed for gearboxes with a flange output shaft and is equipped with a mechanical interface standardized in accordance with EN ISO 9409-1. Both types are available with helical teeth, while the PK1 is also available with straight teeth. The pinions are also available in four different modules and with different numbers of teeth.
The pinion option can be combined with a total of eight gearbox series: These include one coaxial planetary gearbox with output shaft (PLHE) and one with output flange (PFHE) from the Economy Line, which comprises durable and powerful standard gearboxes with an excellent price-performance ratio. The Precision Line, which stands for the high accuracy of precision gearboxes, comprises two coaxial planetary gearboxes with output shaft (PSN and PLN) and output flange (PSFN and PLFN) and one right-angle planetary gearbox each (WPLN and WPSFN).
These numerous possible combinations of pinion and planetary gearbox types ensure that there is not only a solution for a wide range of requirements, but generally even several: For example, the torsional rigidity of flange gearboxes is higher than that of gearboxes with an output shaft. If, for example, the installation space situation is the decisive criterion, the designer can use the short gearboxes with output flange or the right-angle precision gearboxes. If precision is the decisive factor, he can opt for the higher accuracy and torsional rigidity of precision gearboxes. For standard applications, on the other hand, economy gearboxes are a more economically attractive solution.
