Planetary gearbox
Power turned up once again
Higher output torques and maximum speeds, more gear ratio variety and the option of adapting the gearbox design to the required service life - these are improvements to the low-backlash planetary gearboxes SP+ and TP+ of the "alpha Advanced Line" from Wittenstein.
The improved power density optimizes motor utilization and enables even more dynamic processes. This results in faster cycle times and higher machine productivity. The optimized gearbox utilization also enables significant energy savings on the motor side. Thanks to continuously optimized machining processes for the gearing, both planetary gearboxes are quieter than ever before: even at speeds of 3,000 rpm, they achieve a maximum conversational volume. In addition, new clamping hub connections in the form of grooved plug-in sleeves on the drive side meet increased safety requirements. All these advantages make the low-backlash planetary gearboxes SP+ with output shaft and TP+ with output flange interesting for retrofitting and upgrading existing machines.
With the upgrade of these gearbox series, Wittenstein alpha wants to once again underline its best-in-class standard. With up to 20 percent more torque, an almost 30 percent higher maximum speed, six decibels less running noise and various additional binary ratios - all in unchanged compact dimensions - the aim is to redefine power density. This applies to the seven available sizes as well as to the application-specific High Speed and High Torque versions.
The web-based "Sizing Assistant" is available for the application-specific design of gearboxes and can be used to find the right gearbox solution. When it comes to detailed sizing tasks, the multifunctional Cymex 5 sizing software is the right tool. The desired service life of the gearbox can also be included in the design.
With the patent-pending mounting ring, Wittenstein has taken the topic of functionality beyond the actual planetary gearbox product: A set of suitable screws is inserted into a lightweight foam ring in the respective bolt circle of a TP+ ready for installation. The screws, which are coated with threadlocker, are guided through the mounting ring and held in position even in unfavorable installation positions. The mounting ring is supplied complete with the gearbox.
