New frequency inverter series
Higher protection, better performance
The Bonfiglioli S2U inverters are now also available in protection class IP66 and higher performance. The new series is particularly suitable for applications in harsh environments. The heat sink has been specially designed for extreme environmental conditions such as dust, moisture and cleaning chemicals.
The compact S2U IP66 plug & play inverters for single-phase 230-volt networks and three-phase 400-volt networks consist of three sizes with motor outputs from 0.4 to 18.5 kilowatts. Special features of the inverter are the 32-bit processor with advanced IGBT power circuitry. In addition, built-in PID controllers and PLC functions regulate frequency, pressure and air volume, for example in heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications. The built-in EMC filter in accordance with IEC/EN61800-3 ensures low electromagnetic interference and enables safe operation, according to the company.
Other features of the series include slip and torque compensation, emergency stop function, a carrier frequency of one to 16 kilohertz that changes automatically according to the temperature function and an integrated brake chopper as well as a special fire mode for fan applications.
The keypad directly on the front of the inverter makes commissioning and operation easier for the user. Thanks to integrated logic functions such as mathematical operators and the Ladder programming language, which is compatible with IEC61131, the S2U-IP66 inverters can be customized without the need for a PLC. In addition, the inverter can be easily integrated anywhere thanks to the built-in Modbus interface and the wide range of common communication protocols available (Profibus, Modbus, Devicenet, Canopen, Ethercat, TCP/IP).
All three sizes have an RJ45 port for connection to a PC as well as easily accessible terminals on the front for quick and easy power and signal cable connection. The temperature-optimized design also promises a low-maintenance and long service life. The combination of robustness and intelligence makes the series suitable for a wide range of applications such as pumps, fans, intelligent conveyor belts, textiles, material handling, wood processing and food and beverages. as
