Motor feedback interface
Better communication between sensors and logic
The new servo motor feedback interface SCS open link from Hengstler offers new possibilities in terms of real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance. The standard protocol for encoder and sensor applications is the focus of the trade fair appearance at SPS 2019.
The open motor feedback interface SCS open link from Hengstler is designed to make communication between sensors and logic more efficient and safer. The interface transmits data with high performance and bidirectionally in 2- and 4-wire applications and is suitable for both sensors and actuators.
Its comprehensive safety architecture even allows machine builders to use inexpensive standard components. SCS open link is certified for use in applications up to SIL3 and PLe Cat. 3 and enables machine builders to set up a multi-supplier system. As automation technology manufacturers can have their components certified for the new interface, SCS open link users benefit from a steadily growing number of fully compatible products.
Hengstler will be demonstrating the possible applications of SCS open link in a showcase at SPS 2019. Among other things, a servo motor with integrated Acuro encoder and SCS open link, which has a sensor hub with additional sensors, will be presented. These transmit data to the cloud via a powerline. An extremely compact servo motor feedback solution consisting of a drive, integrated 36 multi-turn encoder and Drive-CLiQ interface will also be on show.
Another highlight at the SPS will be the robust and reliable encoders from Hengstler. These include the Acuro series, which is characterized by high precision, robustness and low energy consumption. dsc
