Planetary screw drives
Live eight times longer
The PLSA planetary screw drives from Bosch Rexroth are equipped with a new system of preloaded single nuts, cylindrical and flanged, and achieve twice the load ratings of other preload systems. This extends their nominal service life by a factor of eight.
With dynamic load ratings of up to 544 kilonewtons, the PLSA planetary screw drives from Rexroth transmit high forces particularly quickly. The product family with screw diameters from 20 to 75 millimetres covers a force spectrum in the highest performance range and with speeds of up to 50 meters per minute.
In PLSA planetary screw drives, nine planets rotate around the threaded spindle. This design principle results in large contact surfaces in relation to the overall dimensions as well as more application options for the electromechanical axes equipped with them. PLSA increase the feed forces compared to ball screw drives. Bosch Rexroth has added new intermediate sizes to the finely graduated diameter/pitch combinations.
The cylindrical single nuts with flange are available with axial play as well as preloaded. The type of preload for backlash-free operation is based on a micrometer-precise sorting of the planets. This enables a doubling of the load ratings and an eightfold increase in the nominal service life compared to conventional systems on the market. This is particularly important for very short-stroke applications such as the application of viscous adhesives and sealants in automotive engineering or friction welding. In addition, an effective wiping seal prevents chips, dust and liquids from entering the nut, even under adverse ambient conditions.
Bosch Rexroth manufactures the PLSA threaded spindles in stock using the rolling process. The company has commissioned a new generation of planetary grinding machines to produce the planets. The process is so precise that Rexroth can manufacture spindles, nuts and planets separately. This shortens delivery times and enables the local assembly of customer-specific planetary screw drives in Europe, Asia and America. Users define their PLSA using an online configurator, which guides them through all the options with image support. They can then transfer the configured assemblies to the Rexroth eShop at the click of a mouse, where they can see the price and delivery time directly.
The PLSA form the heart of the EMC-HD electromechanical heavy-duty cylinder. The mechanical and electronic components are combined to create a ready-to-install actuator. The EMC-HD is increasingly being used as an energy-efficient actuator for applications with high forces. Users parameterize and change the travel profile flexibly via the drive software. The EMC-HD is available as a purely mechanical assembly or as a ready-to-install plug & run solution with an intelligent Indradrive servo drive. as
