Integrated sensors replace torque transducers
It is difficult to record measurement data in a rotating drivetrain, as direct networking via a cable is not possible or the required installation space is lacking.
With the Intelligent Clutch, R+W offers a user-friendly and versatile hardware and software solution.
The sensors integrated into the series clutch measure torque, speed, acceleration, rotation and position in space. This data is processed by the internal electronics and transmitted to a wirelessly connected mobile device. The mechanical properties of the clutch are not affected. It can compensate for axial, lateral and angular misalignment and transmit torque. R+W thus offers an alternative to a torque transducer. The coupling measures various variables with high measuring accuracy, and no external measuring amplifier is required for the data measurements.
