Highly dynamic drive systems for intralogistics
At the LogiMAT trade fair, ebm-papst will be presenting intelligent drive systems for various logistics applications and, as a novelty, the drive-steering system.
The market for driverless transport systems (AGVs) is growing rapidly, and the demands on the drives for freely navigating AGVs are high: fast commissioning and intelligent networking via bus systems are essential. This is also accompanied by demands for high power density - minimum installation space with maximum efficiency.
Highly compact drive system for AGVs
ebm-papst presents the new drive-steering system, an innovative drive solution for mobile battery-powered applications. It enables vehicles to be moved over a wide area. This drive solution consists of drive motors, gears, sensors and wheels and will be presented for the first time at LogiMAT.
The ECI-63 and ECI-80 BLDC motors from ebm-papst meet the above requirements in the new drive-steering system or as direct wheel drives. They require little installation space, achieve high torques with only 24 V and are capable of delivering three times the power for short periods. Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance can be implemented thanks to integrated intelligence in the drives. In combination with the Optimax gearboxes, this results in compact, robust and intelligent drive systems.
Shuttle applications with high drive requirements
Shuttle applications are another trend in intralogistics. In order to keep the space required for a warehouse as small as possible, these are built upwards. All storage positions on all levels are then approached by shuttle vehicles. The ECI-63 and ECI-80 motors in combination with Optimax gearboxes meet the requirements in terms of dynamics, positioning accuracy and service life.
