Efficient power transmission
For the harsh environment
Drive technology manufacturer WEG has introduced helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel gearboxes for rated torques of up to 18,000 Newton meters. The gearboxes complete the existing WG20 geared motor range in three sizes each.
With efficient power transmission, they can be combined with WEG add-on motors up to 75 kilowatts and up to energy efficiency class IE4 to create geared motors with a high power density. Robustness and high-quality workmanship make them suitable for demanding applications in heavy industry, for example in steelworks, the energy sector or mining. The WG20 gearboxes have standard market connection dimensions; they are easy to replace worldwide without the need for machine modifications by the user. The robust block housings made of gray cast iron are torsion-resistant and precisely manufactured, as they are machined in the production process in a single clamping operation. The smooth surface enables easy cleaning. Like all members of the WG20 family, the new gearboxes were developed using the finite element method. Thanks to the modular pinion system, they are designed with two or three stages in a large reduction range. As a result, the gearboxes are energy-efficient. The variant-optimized gearing concept enables high output speeds and coverage of a wide speed range. pb
