Actuating cylinder with extended options

A-Drive uses GSX electric cylinders from Curtiss Wright in its actuator solutions. The actuators now have features as standard that were previously only available as special versions. These include programmable encoder systems.

The Exlar actuators are designed to be more modular, making many previously individual options standard. This makes it possible to integrate the actuators into more applications.

The successor series GTX offers space for more encoders without changing the dimensions of the electric cylinder. Curtiss Wright has also developed a standard housing that is finished on site and can therefore be adapted to the respective connector type.

GSX actuators are characterized by high force density, accuracy and robustness and are therefore particularly suitable for applications in the automotive industry and in food production. They combine high-performance actuators with an inverted, ground planetary roller screw drive and a T-Lam motor. This design enables continuous forces of up to 55,000 N and peak forces of up to 110,000 N. The standard travel of the push rod is 457 mm, the maximum stroke speed is 1,000 mm/s.

The electric cylinder is available with a wide range of encoder systems - from EnDat 2.2 and Drive CLiQ to Hiperface and Hiperface DSL (GTX series). This means that the intelligent actuating cylinder can be easily integrated into any automation system. Apps from A-Drive extend the range of applications.
