Eaton introduces Rapid Link 5

Eaton has introduced the decentralized, electronic drive system Rapid Link 5, which is primarily used for simple to complex tasks in all areas of conveyor technology. It offers all the functions required to switch, control, protect and network electric motors on conveyor belts.

The system consists of the Ramo5 electronic motor starter and the Rasp5 frequency inverter, both of which are available with IP65 protection. Typical areas of application for the Rapid Link system include baggage handling systems, logistics centers and production logistics. The system offers easy handling during commissioning or in the event of a fault thanks to integrated manual/automatic operation and plug-in connections, which ensure quick and error-free installation. Other features include flexible mounting and a quick stop. This processes the sensor signals directly in the device without the need for programming in a PLC. Communication takes place via AS-Interface - Profinet and Ethernet/IP enable the system to be connected to the Internet of Things and thus remote maintenance down to device level. The robust design in protection class IP65 means that the solution can also be used in harsh environments.
