Cycloidal gears for robotics

Whether solid or hollow shaft, fully enclosed gear units (gear head) or highly integrable installation kits - Nabtesco has solutions for almost all gear requirements in its portfolio. At SPS, the cycloidal gearbox specialist will be demonstrating what this looks like in practice, including the new 30-60 kilogram QIROX QRC-30/60-PL robot from Cloos.

In cycloidal gears, power is transmitted via pins and rollers. This ensures high efficiency, resistance to shock loads (up to five times the nominal torque) and minimal backlash over the entire service life (hysteresis loss < 1 arcmin). The manufacturer also refers to dynamic response and smooth running as well as high repeatability and path accuracy.

According to the company, more than eight million of them are now in use worldwide. They are used in robots and can be found in peripheral equipment and numerous other high-tech areas such as handling, welding, machine tool construction, packaging technology, medical technology and transportation & logistics. In many cases, they can replace low-backlash planetary gears or hydraulic systems.

Servo gearboxes for the highest demands
Thanks to their combination of precision and dynamics, Nabtesco gearboxes are ideal for use in servo applications. They enable high speeds and accelerations with high positioning and speed accuracy. They are also characterized by high torsional rigidity and low backlash. The servo gearboxes can be quickly and easily integrated into the drive train and can be operated with all standard servo motors. The pre-installed motor adapter plate and the motor shaft coupling for servo motors significantly reduce the design and assembly effort. An uncomplicated plug-and-play solution. as
