Conveyor belt drive for light loads

With the BL3 drive roller in a crowned design, Rulmeca transfers the principle of the drum motor to the significantly smaller 24-volt DC drive rollers, which are primarily manufactured for roller conveyors.

The crowned design of the Drive Roller BL3 is the logical continuation of the drum motor design in smaller designs and for lighter loads. The design of the roller tube is ideal for short conveyor belt sections and light goods. The advantages of these drive rollers for conveyor belts are a space-saving design, no externally flange-mounted motor, which also affects the design of a system, a lower overall height, fewer components and overall low design and procurement costs, as the Drive Roller is an all-in-one component. Areas of application are short conveyor belt sections for light goods, which can be found in handling systems, sorters and dischargers as well as infeed and outfeed conveyor technology in machines and systems.

Other areas of application include cramped installation situations where there is no space for laterally flange-mounted motors. Alternatively, the passive conveyor roller would have to be driven by belts or chains, which would be structurally complex. Typical markets for the BL3 include mechanical and plant engineering, Industry 4.0-networked production machines with intermediate conveyor lines and packaging technology; the pharmaceutical industry is also likely to be interested in the stainless steel design. They are also used to transport non-rigid goods, magazines and flat cellulose products. The control system can be customized and the configuration depends on the specific application and environmental conditions. pb
