Power at the touch of a button

Maxon has introduced the IDX brushless motor with integrated EPOS4 positioning control. It offers auto tuning as standard, has more power, short delivery times and complies with IP 65.

The drives are characterized by high torque density. The compact EC-i motor technology (BLDC) combined with an EPOS4 positioning controller enables high continuous torques and a high power density.

CANopen and EtherCAT are available as well as adjustable digital and analog inputs and outputs. They are matched to the functions and operating modes of the CiA-402 device profile. In addition to the commissioning software, libraries are available for integration into a wide range of master systems.

Using the Epos Studio software with graphical user interface, the configurable drive system automatically searches for the ideal control parameters (auto tuning) and is ready for use at the touch of a button. The integrated temperature sensors on the winding and in the positioning control are evaluated directly in the drive and allow optimum utilization of the operating range. The Maxon configurator can be used to configure the fieldbus, winding, brake, cable and gearbox to suit the machine design.
