Brakes

Backlash-free and spring-loaded

Nexen presents a product family of zero-backlash spring-applied brakes (ZSE, Zero-Backlash Spring Engaged Brake). The pneumatically released brakes of the ZSE series are suitable for use at high speeds and torques.

This makes them the perfect solution for static applications. In contrast to brakes that use disk springs for torque transmission, ZSE brakes operate absolutely backlash-free up to 100 percent of the nominal holding torque. These brakes are available in four different sizes (450, 600, 800, 1000) and for various applications. The bore sizes are available in three standard sizes, but can also be customized.

The brakes are optionally equipped with internal sensors and are therefore Industry 4.0-compatible: the sensors detect the freewheel status and internal temperature of the unit, provide feedback and data and thus ensure the highest possible system safety and efficiency. The ZSE brakes can be used in various industries - for conveyor systems, robot arms, swivel tables, indexing tables with positioning tasks and hollow shaft connections, for example. pb
