Angular and planetary gearboxes

When things get tight

Wittenstein alpha completes the portfolio of low-backlash angular and planetary gearboxes.

With the CP series of the alpha-Basic-Line and the space-optimized angle stages - now also for the NP series of the alpha-Value-Line - Wittenstein alpha completes its performance portfolio. The bevel gear stage in the new design is designed for use in confined installation situations and impresses with its compactness and high efficiency. The CP series of the alpha-Basic-Line achieve an accuracy of ≤ twelve angular minutes - the angle stages are specified with ≤ 17 angular minutes, depending on the size.

Thanks to the wide range of possible coaxial and angular versions and market-compatible output interfaces, rack and pinion systems, spindle and chain drives as well as coupling connections can be served. The range of variants in the CP and NP series therefore leaves nothing to be desired for economically sensitive applications with medium performance requirements in the general segment - users benefit from a variety of outputs that goes far beyond the market standard.

High power density in a minimized installation space
The design highlight of the angle versions of the alpha-Basic-Line and the alpha-Value-Line is a high power density in a reduced installation space - ideal for use in confined installation situations. On the drive side, the permissible maximum speed has also been improved. Across the entire speed spectrum, the harmonious noise behavior of all gearboxes confirms the high quality of the components and their interaction when converting torques and speeds.

Maximum efficiency and flexibility
The alpha-Basic-Line product generation of planetary and right-angle gearboxes is designed for cost/benefit-optimized solutions for standard applications. The CP series with five different sizes, additional output variants and its new bevel gear stages combines a backlash of ≤ twelve angular minutes as a coaxial gearbox and 17 angular minutes as a right-angle gearbox with a high degree of application flexibility. The variants of the CPS series have also been newly developed: on the one hand with an exchangeable B5 output flange, and on the other with long centering.

Thanks to the long centering option, the new interface enables an even more compact connection to the machine and contributes to space savings. The interchangeable B5 output flange, on the other hand, increases design freedom and can be flexibly adapted to the application interfaces. The combination of performance features of the alpha-Basic-Line is ideal for feed axes of handling kinematics in the packaging industry, for belt drives, for infeed axes for delta robots or for machine tools with short, linear spindle movements. pb
