Laser cutting machines
For sheets of different thicknesses
At Blechexpo, Mazak exhibited three laser cutting machines from its latest series. The manufacturer thus addressed every area of application in the industry.
In recent years, the Optiplex Nexus 3015 Fiber has become the standard model for small and medium-sized contractors and for manufacturing their own products. Even the basic version of the laser cutting machine has a range of functions for automatic retooling when changing batches and for quality monitoring during cutting. This means that even inexperienced users can successfully implement their projects. Thanks to the large access door and the raised Z-axis, the machine offers a high degree of flexibility. The latest member of the Nexus family has a 6 kW fiber laser. This allows the machine to cover a sheet thickness range from 0.5 to 25 mm.
In the power class between 6 and 10 kW laser power, Mazak offers the Optiplex 3015 Fiber III model from the Premium Standard segment. It is aimed at customers in series production. With a powerful drive system for high cutting dynamics, the Optiplex is designed for optimized sheet processing times. The top model with 10 kW power covers sheet thicknesses up to 35 mm. The Mazak Multi-Control cutting head is able to vary the beam diameter in fractions of a second during the cutting process, even before focusing, so that high piercing and cutting speeds go hand in hand with excellent cutting edge quality at all times. This ensures high productivity and saves reworking.
The premium segment with the Optiplex 3015 DDL is the first to feature a direct diode laser. This laser is characterized by an even higher absorption rate in the material. This achieves cutting speeds that are on average 21.5 percent higher than comparable fiber lasers. This reduces sheet processing times and also saves a lot of energy. A very large process window and its enormous heat tolerance also simplify the cutting of small contours and thin webs. The cut edge is of such high quality that post-processing is often unnecessary.
The Japanese family business is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and is proud of its tradition with over 40 years of experience in Europe.
