Sensor UPS

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Protect encoder data in the event of network faults

In the event of mains faults or failures, non-absolute encoders without an independent power supply lose their position data, and data loss can also occur with other sensor types.

With the sensor UPS, MKT Systemtechnik offers a compact solution for this. The 75 mm x 70 mm x 120 mm UPS unit for TS35 mounting ensures a fail-safe 24 V supply for up to nine encoders. During normal operation, it supplies the connected encoders and sensors with mains voltage; in the event of interruptions, the integrated 19 Ah battery maintains the power supply. The sensor UPS has a short-circuit-proof status output to monitor the battery status. LEDs indicate the presence of the regular supply voltage, current depassivation of the battery and the need to replace it.
