PLC for micro applications

The new Allen-Bradley Micro870 PLC from Rockwell Automation can support intelligent micro applications requiring up to 304 I/O points, 280 KB of memory and 20,000 program instructions.

PLC for micro applications

The PLC uses a flexible design concept that provides developers with up to three plug-in modules and eight expansion I/O modules. This allows them to easily customize or expand the controller. The memory capacity of 280 kB supports modular programming and the use of user-defined function blocks. The memory can also be used to manage a single program for all machine models in which the PLC is used.

The controller communicates via EtherNet/IP and includes several integrated communication options, such as a USB programming port, a non-isolated serial interface and an Ethernet port. It also supports up to two motion axes. Version 11 of the Connected Components Workbench provides a suitable development environment for programming.
