Adaptive robot control
Plan and simulate bin picking virtually
The virtual creation and prior simulation of robot motion sequences saves the user a lot of time and therefore costs. With the Robot Vision solution, IDS offers a system that also orients itself in space using 3D cameras in the real application.
With the adaptive robot control Mikado ARC ("Adaptive Robot Control"), users can configure the "reach into the box" and the correct positioning of parts without specialist robotics knowledge or programming skills. IDS used a live demonstration to show that the entire process can be created virtually in future. Even different Ensenso camera models, gripping objects, 3D camera images and process scenarios can then be fully simulated. This means that no real robot setup is required for the development process, which minimizes downtimes in production.
Orientation with 3D cameras
The user-friendly robot vision solution combines 3D camera technology from Ensenso with an easily configurable robot controller. The system works with a large number of common robot models and ensures that they orient themselves independently in the room and act autonomously according to the respective conditions.
Even if companies do not have any specialist robotics knowledge, individual bin-picking or palletizing applications can be created thanks to drag-and-drop and GUI. "Mikado ARC takes into account all important components such as hand-eye calibration, path planning and collision control. With the next software release, the entire process can also be planned and optimized virtually," explains Dr. Martin Hennemann, Product Manager Ensenso at IDS. As neither a real 3D camera nor a robot cell need to be used for the creation process, downtimes in real operation can be minimized.
In future, users will be able to simulate various scenarios and determine the optimum set-up for their desired robot application, for example with regard to average cycle times and the degree of emptying. All of this is done completely virtually. To ensure smooth commissioning of the planned application, it can then be checked in the software simulator and adjusted if necessary. Mikado ARC is manufactured by Isys Vision and distributed exclusively by IDS.
