Turck at SPS Connect

Inka Krischke,

IP67 control with direct cloud connection

According to Turck, the TBEN-L-PLC is the first IP67 controller for industrial use that has a Codesys PLC on board, enables a direct cloud connection and can communicate simultaneously via various Ethernet protocols thanks to multiprotocol technology.

In dual MAC mode, the robust block module offers two IP addresses and can therefore either establish a connection to the automation network via one port and a securely separated Internet connection to the cloud via the second port or - if no cloud connection is required - communicate in two Ethernet networks, for example as a Profinet device and as a Profinet, Ethernet/IP or Modbus TCP master.

With the option of direct connection to Turck's 'Cloud Solutions' directly on the machine, the IP67 controller not only eliminates the need for additional edge gateways, it also significantly simplifies project planning for the user. Decentralized and networked automation concepts can thus be implemented with little installation effort and cost. Programming such a solution with an integrated cloud connection also saves a lot of resources compared to applications with a separate edge gateway, as no interfaces are required for data exchange.

Easy access to machine data in the cloud from any PC or mobile device worldwide facilitates fault diagnosis and maintenance as well as condition monitoring for preventive maintenance.
The cloud interface clearly displays the status of sensors and other machine data in a browser application. The user can compile these dashboards without any programming knowledge.
Limit values, such as for temperature, pressure or vibration, are easy to set and actions can be defined if they are exceeded. The cloud sends an SMS or email directly if required.
