Fieldbus systems and gateway units
The fieldbus systems and gateway units in SMC 's EX series will in future support other protocols in addition to EtherNet-based protocols.
An IO-Link master has been integrated into the EX600 communication platform. Up to four masters can be blocked in an EX600 platform with a Profinet interface. Connected IO-Link devices can thus be parameterized during operation. The EX600-SEN3/4 dual-port fieldbus systems each offer two EtherNet connections. EtherNet/IP devices are integrated into the network after 0.5 s using QuickConnect. A switch is not required and fewer cables are needed.
