Higher production capacity thanks to new production hall

In 2020, Sieb & Meyer achieved record results, particularly in the CNC control systems business segment. After the first four months of the new financial year, it appears that the positive trend will continue and even increase.

This development continues to be driven by the high volume of investment from the PCB and semiconductor industries. "We closed the 2020 financial year with record sales of € 57 million and assumed that we would achieve a similarly good level in 2021," explains Markus Meyer, CEO of Sieb & Meyer. "However, there is now a good chance that the current financial year will be even more positive." The positive business development is paired with an increase in the number of employees of over 20% compared to 2019.

The CNC control versions CNC 8x.00 and CNC 9x.00 developed by Sieb & Meyer enable manufacturers to build machines for drilling and milling printed circuit boards at the highest level. These high-quality PCBs are in turn needed for the expansion of 5G mobile networks, which is being driven forward worldwide despite the COVID-19 crisis. "This explains the continuing demand in this area," explains Markus Meyer. "But we are also seeing a very good order situation in drive technology." Above all, the SD2M three-level inverter is conquering new markets, which is why Sieb & Meyer has literally created more space for the innovative solution in Lüneburg: At the end of May 2021, the company will be able to move into a new production/warehouse hall with a floor area of around 450 square meters, which will enable increased production capacity for the SD2M product area. At the same time, the structural expansion creates urgently needed space for the production of PCB CNC controllers.
