Stationary clamping systems
Slim 5-axis clamp
With the Kontec KSX-C2 5-axis clamp, Schunk is expanding its KSX family and giving new impetus to high-precision 6-sided machining.
The tapered outer contour, which improves accessibility with standard tools, is noticeable at first glance. With active pull-down, the Kontec KSX-C2 achieves good results in terms of plane parallelism and squareness, thus creating the prerequisites for 6-sided machining.
Integrated elastomer damping
The clamping forces of the Kontec KSX-C2 can be infinitely adjusted using a torque wrench. A maximum of 40 kilonewtons with a torque of 120 Newton meters is possible. During machining, integrated elastomer damping absorbs the vibrations that occur, which benefits the surface quality of the workpieces and the tool life. As both the drive and the adjustment mechanism of the 5-axis clamp are fully encapsulated, the clamp is protected against chips, dirt and cooling lubricants.
Extensive standard program
The maintenance-free Kontec KSX-C2 is available from the start in four basic body lengths (330, 430, 500, 630 and 800 millimetres) and two heights each (175 and 214 millimetres). It fits seamlessly into Schunk's modular system for workpiece clamping. In conjunction with the Vero-S zero-point clamping system, it can be changed onto the machine table in a matter of seconds and with maximum repeat accuracy. The clamping bolts required for this are mounted directly in the base body of the 5-axis clamp without the use of an adapter plate. As the clamping is tensile, there is virtually no bending load on the base body, even when using the zero-point clamping system
