According to Schunk, the polygonal chucks with ER taper can be combined with all commercially available holders for ER collets. Thanks to the Tribos holders, the tools can be preset in length with an accuracy of 0.01 mm and changed into the collet chucks in just a few simple steps. This minimizes set-up times and increases repeat accuracy. The polygonal chuck is available in two versions: The Tribos-Mini ER for micromachining is suitable for small shank diameters. It is available in sizes ER 11 (clamping diameter 1 mm to 4 mm) as well as ER 16, ER 20, ER 25 and ER 32 (clamping diameter 1 mm to 6 mm). The Tribos-RM ER was designed for volume machining in the high speed range. It is available in sizes ER 20 (clamping diameter 3 mm to 8 mm) as well as ER 25 and ER 32 (clamping diameter 3 mm to 12 mm).
