All-round care

Customized workstations in assembly. Bedrunka + Hirth equipped the Ganter training center with individual workstations - workbenches and cabinets are geared towards the requirements of modern work processes in terms of order, safety and ergonomics.

When two harmonize, the third is happy: When Otto Ganter in Furtwangen, a specialist in the development, manufacture and sale of standard elements, wanted to transform its former warehouse into a modern training center, it needed a partner to take care of the furnishings. The choice fell on the trading company Otto Bitzer in Albstadt, which brought the company furnishers Bedrunka + Hirth from Bräunlingen on board. For this project, it was thus possible to offer complete implementation from a single source - from 3D-supported project planning and sampling to technical advice, delivery of application technology and factory equipment through to installation.

The hall, which is now available to Ganter as a training center and for equipment construction, is around 700 square meters in size. Christof Kuner, Head of Training and Head of Mechanics at Ganter, emphasizes the smooth cooperation in the furnishing of the building. The fact that he had one contact person for the entire project was decisive for the award of the contract. Ralph Barth, a sales representative from Bedrunka + Hirth who advises customers in southern Germany and Switzerland, was involved from the initial collection of ideas and planning phase. At Otto Bitzer, Uwe Thomer, contract and project fitter, took on the Ganter plans, held all the strings in his hand and was available as a contact person.

Room concept visualized three-dimensionally
The Ganter project was a special assignment for Otto Bitzer because the entire hall was completely refitted - including machines, factory equipment, welding room and a room partition to the grinding shop. The project was planned using pCon-Planner, a design tool for fast and efficient three-dimensional modeling and presentation, which is used by both Otto Bitzer and Bedrunka + Hirth. Data was transferred easily via professional import/export interfaces. "We ourselves are always impressed by how realistic the presentation in pCon-Planner is," says property fitter Thomer. All objects such as workbenches, cabinets and machines are reproduced exactly from the library so that the customer has a clear idea of what their hall will look like later and whether work processes have been mapped correctly. Equipment and planning scenes can be visualized not only as images but also as films. If everything is as desired, the depicted objects are ordered, delivered and installed.

Everything for perfect work organization
While Otto Bitzer primarily took care of the technical equipment, Bedrunka + Hirth alone supplied 22 in-line workbenches, all completely "Made in Germany". The Bräunlingen-based company focuses on quality: the stable construction of welded base frames and housings made of high-quality, welded sheet steel can withstand loads of up to 1.5 tons, depending on the configuration. The table tops made of multi-layer glued beech provide a robust storage and work surface. The worktops are sanded and surface-treated, waterproof and distortion-free as well as damped in accordance with DIN 68705. All drawer pull-outs can be selected in height and configuration according to customer requirements. Whether for tools or small parts - with steel ball-bearing guides and a load capacity of up to 200 kilograms, they demonstrate real taker qualities and make it easier to keep the workplace tidy. This is particularly important in a training workshop.

A hexagonal workbench was set up as a central group workstation for the Ganter trainees. "With its large selection of drawer cabinets and freely selectable drawer/door combinations, this product is ideal for training workshops," says Ralph Barth. The power attachments for electricity and compressed air are centrally accessible and safely integrated.

The furnishings were supplemented by separate hinged door cabinets and drawer cabinets. In terms of organization, safety and ergonomics, the drawer cabinets from Bedrunka + Hirth are not only geared to the requirements of modern work processes, but above all to specific customer needs. Bedrunka + Hirth places a special focus on equipping drawers and shelves. Once the basic height and load capacity have been decided, the drawers can be individually equipped and divided, for example with dividers, small parts boxes and troughs or oil-resistant corrugated rubber or anti-slip mats. The range of inserts extends from universal cassettes to CNC tool holders. Depending on how valuable the contents are and how important control is, drawers and pull-outs can be secured with different locks. In addition to simple cylinder locks, there is also a choice of e-lock systems with pin code locks or RFID locks that can be opened with a personalized card or chip. pb
