Delivered in 48 hours

The workplace arrives in no time

48-hour service. Companies plan, they have strategies in advance to avoid slipping into unforeseen situations. And yet there are always cases where something is needed sooner than expected. Krieg enables the delivery of complete workstations within 48 hours.

A process changes. Temporary workers are suddenly added. A retooling is pending. Something has to be restructured on site. In the turbulence of everyday life and in the middle of day-to-day business, it sometimes happens that department heads, project managers or entrepreneurs are too late with their considerations and planning. Then it's a matter of providing the right workstation, shelves and tables or materials as quickly as possible.

"We are a manufacturer on the one hand and a mail order company on the other. We are closing a gap."

Whether classic industrial companies or production facilities, from funeral homes to workshops for the disabled: In most cases, it is smaller quantities, five to six workstations, which are then requested from Krieg. What is in stock? What sizes are in stock? What can be offered in this tight situation? Often, the required workstations have not been considered in advance or an unexpected need arises. In such cases, it is important to deliver quickly for extra areas so that work on site does not come to a standstill.

Based on years of experience as a full-range supplier of office and business equipment, Krieg was the first to set up a fast delivery program 20 years ago. As demand continued to grow, the specialist expanded its service to include the 48-hour program in the workplace sector. "Since the beginning of 2019, an entire workstation can now be set up in just two days," explains Florian Becker, Head of Product Management at Krieg. "We make the fastest workstations in Europe possible." The fact that products can be delivered from stock in the shortest possible time sets the company apart from other competitors in the mail order business. Becker: "You won't find a workplace concept like this anywhere else. Someone can build a factory hall tonight and start work the day after tomorrow."

This is only possible thanks to the manufacturer component: Krieg produces its own products and also has access to a trading program with more than 130 suppliers. This means that operational workstations with the most common accessories are available more quickly than usual, and requests are responded to promptly and flexibly. Becker: "We are a manufacturer on the one hand and a mail order company on the other. As we embody both in one, we are closing a gap."

Fast availability is one aspect of the purchase decision: If you need a workstation very quickly, you can't wait three weeks. "This is a real issue in the company," says Becker. "Speed is the key. Then it's no longer primarily about the lowest price. The delivery time is the decisive criterion. And our customers then receive proven quality within 48 hours."

In the background, preparations are always in full swing. Krieg has to calculate and plan well: Which items need to be stocked? What needs to be in stock and in what quantities? Products were defined in advance, and production processes, storage capacities and organizational structures were optimized. The concept was launched back in 2018 and all the prerequisites were in place by the start of 2019. By the deadline, stocks had been built up and new packaging machines implemented, the warehouse had been reorganized and logistics had been coordinated with external service providers. Becker: "We ran the project once across our entire value chain."

At Krieg Pro4Work, in the main catalog with a full range, customers can find out about the 48-hour program. The selection is available on 80 pages and, with 2,500 items, shows a considerable variety of products, "because we not only supply products in certain sizes, but also in different colors." After one year, it is clear that the approach is the right one and sales are developing positively. The 48-hour concept is practiced across all departments. At the same time, it is an on-going process. Becker: "We are expanding the range in 2020, making adjustments and using the experience we have gained so far. The aim is to structure the range in line with customer needs." as
